Seiko Prospex 2025 "Asia Exclusive" Thailand Monster Prajam Yam Limited Edition

Seiko Thailand has just released the Prospex Monster Divers Asia Limited Edition SRPL41K1, which is exclusively available for the Asian market. This diver's watch uses the basic "Monster" model and has a green dial inspired by the traditional Thai art pattern, Prajam Yam.

Prajam Yam is a traditional Thai diagonal pattern that resembles a four-petaled flower. This motif is often used in Thai art and architecture, such as on temple and palace doors, pillars, and windows. In ancient times, this pattern was believed to have the power to protect against danger. Then the beauty of this traditional pattern is applied to the fierce Seiko Prospex Monster Diver watch. Thus creating an interesting combination of tradition and innovation.

This watch has a green sunray dial, with details of the traditional Thai pattern, Prajam Yam. The seconds hand is made in orange which contrasts with the dial. All indexes and hands have been coated with LumiBrite, for easy readability in low light. There is a day-date window at 3 o'clock with a cyclops lens above it. Then the dial is protected by Hardlex crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating.

The SRPL41K1 is designed using the iconic Prospex base model nicknamed “Monster”. The nickname was given by watch enthusiasts because of the serrated bezel design and the 12 o’clock marker index that looks like a monster’s teeth. This watch has a stainless steel case with a diameter of 42.4 mm, a thickness of 13.4 mm, and water resistance up to 200 meters (ISO standard). The case is combined with a unidirectional stainless steel bezel with a 60-minute scale, which functions to measure the duration of the dive. Meanwhile, the strap uses a Prospex Monster class stainless steel bracelet, with a folding clasp and diving extension so that it can be worn on thick diving suit sleeves.

For its movement, the SRPL41K1 uses an automatic movement from Seiko Caliber 4R36 that can beat as much as 21,600 vph, has 24 jewels, and a power reserve of up to 41 hours. In addition, the screw down caseback is also printed with a tsunami illustration which is the hallmark of Seiko Prospex.
